I've lately been diving back into digital art, and while I would love to host all of my work here, I still have more web dev stuff to learn before I can make it work how I wan it to. For now, and while the site is under it's perpetual maintenance, please visit my Cara page!
Conceptual Growth
A fun and casual reintroduction to painting. With nothing else but the idea of a mountain and forest, I put brush to canvas. I've always been fond of mountains and dense forestry and I naturally just kind of leaned towards a mountainside. It's obviously very simple, but I'm rather fond of the brushwork in the clouds and peaks. The added forestry and tree ont he right side were last minute additions that honestly don't really mesh well with the rest of the piece in my opinion. It gave me a greal experience to draw from in where I need to better compose my pieces before I begin building them up. I was too hasty to render the first half and drew a blank when trying to find something to help make the location more believable.
Murkwood
I always have fun with trees. To a certain degree, I dont care too much how well done they are. I simply admire them. A long and peaceful existence as the stewards of persistence and the bounty of nature. The majesty of trees will never be lost on me.
This piece was short and simple. I didnt want nor need to do much. I was inspired to depict a tree, and a tree I have depicted. Loved messing with the murkiness of the image, though I do sometimes wonder if I took it too far, or not far enough. Nonetheless, another lesson to carry forward. The more a subject appeals to me, the easier it will be to lose myself in my manifestation.
Pride in the Wind
A gift for my loving and beautiful soul of a partner, Ari. There are few other souls I know that can display their pride in themselves while exhibiting the humility of their open heart. They are a constant inspiration for me to improve myself, and push my own boundaries beyond what I may believe at the time are possible. They are the lion that takes this pisces from the lake to the stream, pushing me down my own path of discovery, growth, and oneness into an infinite world. I am forever grateful to them and the lessons we have already learned together. I don't say the word 'pray' lightly, but I pray for many more by their side.
Afloat
I had a lot of fun with this piece. A rather simple scene all in all, but I was most interest in playing with the color and light. There are so many beautiful colors in sunsets across the world and I think the ones I chose speak to my color tastes.
